Golden Kaleidoscope: You Don't Own Me...

You Don't Own Me...

"Express yourself, don't repress yourself"-Madonna

"I'm not sorry. I'm not your b*tch, don't hang your sh*t on me"-Madonna

I know i've said this before but sometimes things need to be repeated. As a woman with a few extra curves ;) I've been advised by some to "tone it down", show a little less, and to be a little more discreet with my print choices and colors. I developed really early and people were very quick to make me feel ashamed of something I couldn't help; my body. I hid in gym shorts. I was the only girl in fourth grade wearing a bra and missy sizes.  Now, I'm in my 20's and after years of trying to confirm to other people's ideas of what a woman's body should be, I refuse to hide or be embarrassed of my body. I will always be my own version of appropriate, on my terms, not anyone else's.  We give way too much power to others in regard to our bodies.  It's your body not theirs.  You decide what you want to do.  If you're fat, be fat and love it.  If you're small, be small and love it just as much.  And if you don't like it, change it because you want to change it.  Not because someone else says to do so. Stop allowing others to dictate who you are.   Take your power back ladies! Wear what you want and OWN IT!

I'm not sorry

If you follow me on any social media site you know I'm all about form fitting, bold prints and unique sexy pieces. As I've stated before, I'm drawn to clothes that speak for me and help me stand out from others.
The pieces from Pile NY do that and then some. All of the pieces from Pile NY are fun, flirty, bold and I swear God blessed her hands, because these clothes were made for a woman with curves.  When I tried on the Kimberly Jumper I took tons of selfies and had a Beyonce moment in the mirror (don't judge me). You pretty much couldn't tell me I wasn't killing it. The jumper is perfection, from the bold all over hounds tooth print to the neon green zipper giving this jumper just enough umph without over doing it. I'm a 16/18, so I had to custom order my jumper. She tailored it to my specific measurements. Their site currently has sizes 10-16 but the super sweet and humble designer, Kim, informed me the spring collection will go up to size 20! She is taking custom orders. Check her out and support her line. Thanks again for reading!

Once again, thank you to my awesome photographer Greg from M76 Photo for capturing some great photos! Thanks to Kitty K. Free for all of your help. You're a life saver!
